Spaghetti and Meat Sauce

Tender spaghetti coated in a rich, meaty sauce. A classic comfort dish that warms the soul and satisfies the appetite.


16 ozSan Giorgio® Spaghetti
1 lblean ground beef
1/2 cupchopped onion
1garlic clove, minced
2 cans (14 oz)tomato purée
1 cupwater
1 can (6 oz)tomato paste
1 Tbspchopped parsley
1 Tbspsugar
2 tspsdried basil leaves
1 tspsalt
1/8 tspground black pepper


  1. In 10-inch nonstick skillet, brown meat. Add onion and garlic; cook until onion is tender.
  2. Stir in tomato pureé, water, tomato paste, parsley, sugar, basil, salt and ground black pepper; simmer 30 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package directions; drain.
  4. Serve pasta with meat sauce; sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
